Regulation in construction industry is critical – Contractors

The Association of Building and Civil Engineers Contractors of Ghana (ABCECG) has stressed the need for a regulatory body to control the activities of practitioners in the industry.

The Association said the establishment of a regulatory body will help to weed out unprofessional practitioners in the industry, especially as the activities of such people could result in serious consequences.

Mr Martins Kwasi Nnuro, National President of ABCECG, noted that cases of poor quality of work on some projects had exposed the lack of commitment or low capacity of contractors involved, thus necessitating the need to regulate and sanitize the industry.

Ghana to host Water Africa and Africa Building exhibition

Accra, Mar. 9, GNA – Ghana will host Water Africa and West Africa Building & Construction Exhibition and Seminars from June 22 to June 24, 2016 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
A statement issued by African Conferences & Exhibitions Limited (ACE Event Management) and copied the Ghana News Agency said over 50 local and international companies have already shown their commitment to participate in the conference.

The statement said the event, is an internationally recognised trade show where exhibitors reach the key decision-makers from the water, wastewater and building and construction sectors in the West Africa region.
